Hey people,

I want to tell you how glad I am this few weeks.

After joining Mr Hong Kong contest, I have handled more things than i usually do. Some of the tasks are unusual, for instance, waking up 5am in the morning and meet up at TVB at 8am for shooting.

I know it is tired and I do feel exhausted. Luckily, I have all your support, especially friends who always be around me and talk to me all the time. You guys make me think, make me reflect and make me smile when I forget what smile is like.

Well, I like to go back to the office for at least 15minutes to meet up with my colleagues and have a short chit chat. I feel fresh and awake after chatting with you guys, you guys gave me a lot of advice and support.

Also friends from oversea, Malaysia, Paris, Singapore, brothers, sister, parents..... I love you guys.

Thanks again and well do support me further because I cant cross this alone and what I really need is people around me trusted me.

Me, myself and I

It has been 2 weeks after joining the Mr Hong Kong contest.

I was out for training almost everyday

Especially out to China for Shooting with 15 Miss Hong Kong finalist. I can say that this is a very good networking and experience, 1) to know more about china, 2) to know more about entertainment field, and 3) to analyze more people around me and the personality.

A good chance to improve my personal skills especially those related to my training.

This is not just a contest but a place for me to gain back confident and self reflection. I always ask myself a question, "is this really what I want?" yes no maybe.

I got myself awake after watching the sunrise in Dan Ha mountain, one of the famous sunrise in China. I never feel so touch and fresh, this is the feeling that I always want to feel and slowly it makes me reflect myself.

Well, sometime I might give stupid answer on the stage but what's really matter is that you are still you and you will change depends on the situation.

This contest give me a good turning point to do the best reflection. With the helps from 10 brothers, I slowly get into the mood of competition and I sense the challenge. I love challenges, so lets have the most enjoyable journey ahead, bros.

When time passed by, I realize I have grow up and growth bulkier.

Well, still remember last month, Priscilla suddenly ask me to join Mr Hong Kong and guess what? She actually dare me to do so.

I actually did hand in the form and then I got into first round interview.

I was thinking, this is crazy... gosh.... then I started to prepare for the presentation and stuff...

After the first interview, I have no confident to myself coz I do not have nice body shape that others have.

Guess what, I got a call from TVB that I am into the finalist ... and here I am today as a Number 3 Nicholas Ooi Mr Hong Kong 2010 Contestant. The best thing is that I get to know another 9 contestants and we are now buddy....

My life is getting interesting

It is already March 28th 2010. Almost 4 months since I have touched down from Hong Kong International Airport.
I have stopped writing blog since after I came to Hong Kong.

I realized I will missed a lot of things if I never starts writing it. And so, is time for me to start the engine.

Well, on 27th March 2010, I got my baby (Nikon DSLR D5000) from Mong Kok. It comes with 3 lenses which are 18mm-55mm, Fish eye and 75mm-300mm.Today onwards, I promise to share the beauty of Hong Kong with everyone.

Well, everyone knows about Hong Kong, you can even find a lot of information about Hong Kong from GOOGLE nowadays. This time let me share my experience in the newly build THEME PARK.

Perhentian Island - Long Beach (noon)

By taking boat from Kuala Besut, you are going to spend around 1hour to reach the destination. Yes, it is Long Beach in Pulau Perhentian ( The best beach ever in Kuala Terengganu ).
After reaching the destination, me and my friends decided to stay at Moonlight Resort where you can actually check-in to the resort by just walk-in ( I mean you don't have to reserve a room before you come, but if you do that it would be real nice ). Then we check in and surprisingly everyone of us just need to pay RM30/pax for our "DORM", it does looks like a dorm where 6 of us share a single big room with 1 toilet. Well, we can't really expect much with RM30 per night. We decided to take the NON-package and we spend everything and find everything on our own such as sports and food (This is much more cheaper than a package).
Long beach located in the east part of Pulau Perhentian Kecil ( Small Island ) and it is as long as 750 meters, the longest beach in Perhentian.
It is a really a nice place to hang out (especially when you need a sun tent) and you can really feel the sand as soft as powder, even if you walk to the sea side or snorkeling, you will not face difficulty stepping on any big corals (Only sand). Here are some pictures which have taken...
The resort have a very cosy cafe which located just right in front of the main door of the resort, ermm... I couldn't say is a main door but is kinda open air. It is really a nice place to chill out with friends and family. With the pilows, couches provided together with the mixture of nice food and drinks, it made this place a total travel destination that you must experience even once in your life time. (Strawberry ice blended still the best among all drinks....So nice!..)
Besides, you can take water Taxi provided in the island to go anywhere you like around Perhentian, Lang Tengah or even go to Redang for 1 day trip.
The snorkeling trip charge RM 80 per person for whole day from 10am to 6pm (8 hours of snorkeling trip including bringing you to the fishing village for lunch). Some of my friends who decided to go for the snorkeling trip and they are preparing to jump into the sea for another 8 hours. Enjoy guys....
Not surprise, you can see this everyday.... HEHEHEHE *evil laugh*
Besides, they are also having some kind of massage around the hut and it is kind of cheap.

My NLDS to MyLDS experience

Somewhere in year 2006 during my year 2 of studies, I am started to get bored of whatever I have joined in my university and I decided to search for something extraordinary, let say an NGO ?
I have chosen AIESEC in Local Committee of Universiti Malaya.

I am always excited to go for conferences and taking up responsibilities. Until 1 day somewhere in November 2006. There is a news saying that "NLDS this year going to be in USM and application open now". I still remember I am among the first fellow who sign up during that day together with few friends of mine such as Alif, Lia, Sean, Jasper, Michelle, Yvonne, Anand, and so on.Alif and meMe, Jasper and LisumAlif, Lia, Sean, Shakina and me

Then we attended Pre-NLDS in UM and then to Penang USM.

Having so much of learning, passion, craziness, so many friends like Brandon, Ayam, Boey, Khai Lun, Rubini, SookTheng, Shanny, Kevin, Cecelia, bunch of AIESEC TUC current EB and so many of them. Seeing them become LCP and LC EB from previous NLDS 06 till today MyLDS, I can say that we got old and we have changed so much.
Looking back the pictures, I feel we were so young.

I am one of the delegates who born from the SAMURAI GAME.... Samurai ROCKSsss

MyLDS have mock MCP election , we have our mock LCP election too. Few mock LCP candidates who didn't won the position but they are the REAL LCP today like Brandon, Rubini, and etc ( I'm not sure who else ).
I am one of the mock LCP candidates, proud to be that. Wooohooo.
The last day of NLDS 06, we cry, we hugs, we can't wait to see each other again and we continue our journey of AIESEC.

After NLDS, I have joined NLDS in Thailand
Asia Pacific Exchange Leadership Development Seminar, India
I set a goal for myself, I will apply for MC in year 2007/2008 because is not possible for me to hold any position in LC UM. So I take up the courage and I applied for Information System Manager position.

Then I got in as MC executive 2007/2008.
Then I facilitate Information System AIESEC Conference in Indonesia. This is my first time meeting Vin.
Natcon and Mid-Natcon in Malaysia
Chairing Hong Kong UST Ocamp. I meet Vin again and I am actually chairing his LC conference and even celebrate his birthday. Haha.
I have learned so much from the team that I can barely explain only with words.
I missed my team a lot and wonder when can we meet each other again but I am sure 9 years later, we will meet in AMAN/RACE or whatever new name it is to celebrate AIESEC Malaysia 50th Anniversary.
After my MC term, I got into MyLDS facilitator and I am glad that seeing all the newbies so knowledgeable and passion towards what they are doing.
I am happy that I can work with these 11 individuals who came from different places, different countries and different personalities but we moving toward 1 goal and 1 conference which is MYLDS.
I am still moving with my AIESEC Experience because I still have the last stage to complete which is EXCHANGE.

Hong Kong - Ocean Park

Well let's back to 3 months ago where I was in Hong Kong traveling around. This time I went to Ocean park because of my friends have these bunch of FREE OCEAN PARK tickets getting from the person in-charge of Ocean Park. Thanks to AIESEC HK PolyU.....
Basically 13 of us , 1 Malaysian and 12 HK PolyU friends went to the Ocean Park.
At first I have to wait Rachel ( I met her in India 2 years ago during AP conference ), I met her again in HK which is kindly fun. She brought me to the Ocean Park from Central Station by double decker bus.
Then we reached Ocean Park and meet up with others.
Of course we visit the Pacific Pier but with a LONG QUEUE and unfortunately the underwater is not COLD, it is freaking HOT.
Pacific Pier is a huge aquarium that contained 3 floors and you can get in deeper and deeper to see the sea living creatures....Whatever you can find in Redang/ Perhentian, you can find there too but just they are Hong Kong Citizen.

After visiting the Huge Aquarium, we went to the most exciting part. We play the Roller Coaster ride, the Sollerar Shoot (You can find in Genting) and Spin-and-puke-to-die kind of thing. (also found in Genting).
Since the time I was there is SUMMER time in Hong Kong, therefore the Ocean Park has this event call the Water War. All of my friends decided to go for the Water War ( Ha Sui Leng ), since I am not going to get wet, then I went alone for some other activities.

I visit the park near by, the bird park of Ocean Park. The bird park is full with bird shit, and I have to be careful while I was walking around and luckily they didn't set me as Target.
I went for the OP Viewing Tower, and these are the best views I get from 30 stories high.
Last but not least, the most beautiful place in the park, The Jelly Fish Aquarium.
When the time I meet them up (They are all WET except me - FRESH), is already 6-7pm and the day getting darker and darker.

Thanks guys for inviting me alone to the Ocean Park and I did really enjoy the trip. Can't wait to see you guys again in Hong Kong soon.

This is kinda happened like 2 years ago but since my spirit still still there. Therefore, I decided to write this article and make it into my History Museum Box. ahaha

Actually a month ago before this event , v already registered at The Star Tower .Our team name known as " Taiping-nites" because all of us from Taiping .The members are Me , Pehsiong , Chonglim , Karmun and Desmond and pehsiong is the Researcher for this game.

A day before the event 18th August 2006 .Our team have a "one day earlier met up" of stuff at Penang. Then we having our damn typical expected delicious food in Penang ( P/s : penang is the food heaven in Malaysia ) . Everyone just cant wait for the arrival of 2nd day .So, we went back to the Friendship Hotel and do some research before our earl bed time. Still remember before hand, we actually alias with AssamLaksa ( Ben , Rene , Joe , Kim , Derick )

The race day, all of us met at Esplanade Penang ( just skip all those opening ceremony , aerobic dance and some technical stuff ) . The race began our team get the yellow colour , means we r the yellow team now !!! Our 1st plan is to compare out map with other teams instead of going to the wrong checkpoint, because obviously the map will only state 6 of the same spots and put 4 others randomly ( if you compare your map with others then you can get the 6 correct spot in a click of time). So , after compare and alias ( forgot what the group name) , our 1st plan is to run to the St Xavier ( aha forget to tell, every tasks and checkpoints make us walk and terribly no public transport allowed).

At the school St.Xavier , our task is to burn a charcoal in 5 minutes ……thats very easy for us because we have karmun (the best camp fire builder ever)!! hehehe !!! so fast v finish our 1st task !! then we run to another school for 2nd checkpoint, we have to throw coconuts to hit another target out of the bound !!! We finished this very fast because we some how got lucky.

Come to the 3rd checkpoint , our Task " You have to use the instrumental we provide and sing a hockkien song in the middle of the road " !!! It is seriously hilarious because everyone in my team know how to sing the hockien song but just Desmond played the instrument with wrong tune. Therefore, I decided to RAP the song out ... Goshhzzz

The 4th, 5ht and lastly,

The 6th check point , we get our Final Destination from the SMS and we rush all the way back to The Esplanade to submit our answer . So we register and wait the result

So the result finally come out in 1230pm . Our team and our allias team manage to get in Top 20 among all 200 teams !! Happy like hell (Joanne my colleague will probably says " how you know hell is happy ? "), It was a great feeling fill with happiness that can't explained. Good job guys, real great experience we had. After the race , we have to head to a short briefing at City Bay Hotel. It take a short while for the briefing to carry on and so we stay at Rene’s aunty’s house during that night.

So the 1st day of the race end here.

Back to Hong Kong - HK Disneyland Day time

Is such a cloudy morning, and I forced to woke up at 7am in the morning to rush for Bus --> MTR --> changes of 2 stations to reach Hong Kong Disneyland (Sunny Bay Station).
Lucky, I have a buddy (Vin) in HK who works in Disneyland and he knows the place well. He is the tour guide of the day, and there is benefit following him which is that I can actually get 20% discount on everything in Disneyland, I mean everything. *I wish is 50-70% like those Mega Sales in Malaysia.* and Vin always look weird in the photo, coz he smile like a cartoon.....
Before we reached HK Disneyland, we need to take this very special MTR which designed specially for Disneyland use only.
Even the handle of the MTR is made by MIC
Then we reach Disney. Wooohooo!! *the Disney's songs played around the park, wherever you go, even to the toilet when you are doing your business* (M.I.C.K.E.Y M.O.U.S.E~~~!!! A whole~~~ new~~ world~~!!!)
"Here you leave today and enter the world of Yesterday, Tomorrow and fantasy" - Wooo, it sounds good ... hahaha
Basically when you are in the Disneyland you need to queue very long to take picture with the celebrities ( Bugs Bunny [wrong channel], Goofy, M&M Mouse, and etc ). So when I was wondering around I caught this fellow, basically I forgot his name......Buzz lightyear *if i am not mistaken*.
and PRINCE CASPIEN.... WAHAHA... crazy...no queue, damn funny.
Guess what, I manage to take pix with Goofy without queue, damn lucky man.
The funky Ice Cream stores in Disneyland... with all shapes of ice cream

Basically the Disneyland in Hong Kong is divided into 4 parts which are Tomorrow Land [Sci Fi theme], Fantasy Land [More to cartoon], Adventure [Tarzan, Madagascar(wrong channel), Pokahontas etc] and American Streets [the name says it all].

I did really enjoy the High School Musical performance though.
There are 2 parades going on that day and I manage to watch both of the parade whereby you have to get ready to get wet for the second Water Parade.

Basically, I have finished every single games except those you can find in Malaysia such as coffee cup ( spin till you puke that kind of thing ), or Merry Go Round ( Spin till you vomit that kind of thing )... Crazy, only kids love them.

A lot of shows on that day such as Golden Mickey, Parade, 4D shows (the best one), and Tarzan house visit.... haha...

Also, I joined some kids for the drawing session held in one of the house in American Streets, Animation Academy. The instructor try to teach us how to draw Goofy and Mickey. Real nice experience.

I know my GOOFY look sick.. ish ish

Well the same thing that you can expect from the Disneyland is Queue, Queue, Queue again, Queue till you die, and well after 1 hour of queuing then you can enjoy your 2 minutes ride...WOoohooo ... champion...

I have a goal of myself in Disneyland, that is visit the Small World in all the Disneyland over the world. So far I went to the one in America and Paris, now Hong Kong ..... 3 more to go..
There I finish almost 8 hours of day time in Disneyland....Continue with Night time....

Officially on 29th September, after few rounds of interviews and job search, I finally get a job in a company called Youth Malaysia.

Basically I have been offered a position called Project Executive which allowed me to work closely with YOUTH' 09 event.

During the first month, I have been assigned to become the Event Manager for the Launching of YOUTH' 09.

Until now I knew a lot of friends from the company and enjoy working in event management department.

Good Luck for me and my colleagues, will see YOUTH' 09 as a HUGE success.

Mix Fm Riders - The Sun Motor hunt 2008

I was one of the damn lucky bastard that was selected as part of the race for The Sun MotorHunt 2008 that will happened in Sime Darby Convention Center during 2nd of Nov 2008. Why am I saying I was lucky? Just because I was selected as a representative for Mix Fm.

The way to participate in this contest is pretty easy. You just need to send a quote, saying that why are you capable to join this competition by SMS by typing FreeNameYour quote.

I wrote something that is really make sense and somehow it helps me to won the place, then you know how creative it is... haha. I need to somehow find another partner with me in this race.
At first I suppose to join the race with 3 of my other friends who are Sidney , Sijie and Goh but somehow when I knew I got the price, I ask Sidney to cancel our team and get back the money Rm390. So Sidney is my partner for the race who also representing Mix Fm.

Congratulation to Mr Vicky who won the Mix Fm price, and he is my teammate for the race together with his partner Melvin.

4 Different individuals, 3 times 10 questions, 2 different gang with 1 ultimate goal to achieve.

During the day of the race I woke up around 5.30am and reach the place around 6am plus. Get a McD , waiting waiting and waiting until the race. Then finally we passed the first league and second league as well as not get disqualified. During dinner time , we get to know we are not wining anything. Then we left the hall with disappointment but we did learn a lot from each other and "how to deal with people" stuff.

Really glad that joining Vicky and Melvin for the race and you guys rocks .... looking forward for more team work.Disappointing face of Melvin. haha

First Camp Chair experience in Hong Kong

Every time I attend conference, I get inspired by a bunch of delegate as well as Chair. This is the first time I chair a camp, I feel I am so much mature and inspire when the camp is going on.
10th August 2008 is the most happiest day ever in my life because I inspire so many people in the conference and they like me so much.
Anyway, is time for me to move forward to find what I really want to be and I can be more than who I am, the sentence that I always bare in mind and believed in.
Thanks AIESEC Hong Kong UST for giving such a good chance and Vin (Thanks you so much for servicing me in such a good condition and I really appreciated everything that I get in Hong Kong).
For Organizing committee, I love you guys so much and looking forward to work with everyone of you soon.

Hong Kong - Madame Tussauds

Madame Tussauds is a very famous Wax Museum in Hong Kong Victoria Peak. Since that day I visit the Victoria Peak, then I just take a tour to the Museum and it is in the package.

Well Wax Museum is the same theory that they put fake people and let you take photo since you can't meet the real one especially those who already died.

Besides that you can also mingle yourself inside the politician Gang....Like Assisting some politician in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong - Zhong Wan ( Central ) and Cosway Bay

Zhong Wan is a business area but also it is a High End shopping area for rich guy like some superstar in Hong Kong.
around the area, you can see a lot of well branded shops and so on.
Such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Conch, Rolex, Giorgio Armanie, and so on.

Then I take a walk to Lam Guai Fong, a famous place for bars and clubs. Something Jalan P.Ramlee in KL.
After that I took a MTR to Cosway Bay for dinner because I heard there is a place famous for food... Then I visit the Time Square and Sogo.
After that I get a food somewhere near by and it is Claypot Rice with Duck....hehehe. The shop looks like typical shop from drama and movie.

Hong Kong - The walk in Hong Kong Island

I have made some survey before I went to the Trail walk meaning I have to walk from one place to the another from 2pm to 11pm at night. Therefore I have made my way, bring a map with me and prepare to go for a walk in Hong Kong Island town center.

Well I start my journey in Sheong Wan MTR station "Connaught Road Central" ( another connaught in Hong Kong ).
The first destination I will go is Western Market which is located 5 minutes walk from the station. This building looks like an old British building and they sell antique stuffs as well as those "tourist will buy" stuffs.
The design of the building is very British and taste england + Chinese.
after that I decided to walk to Hollywood Rd which located not far from the market. Hollywood Rd is famous with its antique stuffs (it also called antique St), something like Malacca Jongker Street.
Then after a short walk, I saw a chinese temple called " Man Mou Miu " (something like fight and study temple). The temple building is a typical chinese temple style, then I went in and pray for health also safety.
After that, I walk to Dr Sun Yat Sen's Museum ( house he stayed before and streets he went before ). The house is very huge and nice. The most funny thing in the museum is I can find cyber cafe, library, kids cartoon room, kids learning room and museum.
Then I decided to walk to the Victoria Peak Tram station which is located walking distance around 30 minutes. On the way, I saw a lot of special things like Pizza Hut motorcycle (it looks like some antique motor )

Some modern big building and so on.
Then I reach the Peak Tram station and I bought a ticket with package ( Madame Tussauds + Peak Tram + Sky Terrace ) around 170HKD which is RM80+-. Crazy, just don't convert....

The tram is something like Penang Bukit bendera Tram and they look the same....it takes like 5 minutes to climb up the hill and reach the big building.
Then inside the building there is a Madame Tussauds which is a famous wax house. Then after I visit the wax house I went to the Sky Terrace which allow us to view the night view of Hong Kong in the another side. BUT.....
FUCKING BAD WEATHER.....I just manage to get some hazey pictures. Anyway, I can get a cute picture with McDull... He is so so so cute...

With dissapointment I walked back inside the building and get some nice photo in Victoria peak. Victoria Peak has a chinese name which is call TAI PING san ( similar name with my hometown's hill called Taiping San - Kopisua ) haha. The 3 chinese words in the house mean Tai Ping San - Taiping Hill (Victoria Peak).
The shopping mall on top of the hill is amazing, they just look gorgeous.Then I got down from the hill by minibus to Central..(Zhong Wan).

Hong Kong - The abandoned TVB town

After back from dinner we celebrate Vin's birthday
and then since everyone plan to "ADVENTURE" the most haunted town in Hong Kong, the abandoned TVB town. Before that everyone was exciting except the girls because they scared like hell. For me, well you know I am not into ghost ppl coz I don't scare then I am the brave one who walk behind the group and ensure safety ( another purpose if not let Malaysia down ) wahahha.
Well before the adventure starts, I would like to explain the geographical which we gona walk trough out the whole journey. First is from University ---> then go to a small hill and climb up with no lights and only trees ---> Cross the gate between the jungle and the university which as high as 2 meters (the hard part is to ensure 16 of us cross the gate) ---> cross the jungle which is full of grass 1meter high ---> reach TVB carpark (where someone saw something else) ---> TVB station (where take us 30 minutes to figure out how to go in) ---> TVB background screening ( still a mystery ) ...
Well we only manage to go to the station because we chase by the Pak Guard who petrol the area. When we try to go in there is kinda creepy because we need to cross a lot of things. After 1 hour of effort with no sound and been haunted feeling, finally we reach the TVB station which gona take us 5 minutes walk to the TVB background.
Unfortunately, one of the teammates stepped on the plastic bottle and the guard chase us and we run like an illegal immigrant ( He shouted in cantonese " what are you guys doing here ? Go away " . But it was a very fun adventure that I wont even can get in Malaysia.

aha it was 18 of us where 16 of us are Real ppl and someone saw another 2 of "them".....creepy huh....

Then we got out Absolute Vodka and White wine celebrate our failure.....

Hong Kong - Sai Kung

Not far from the university I stay, there is a very nice place called Sai Kung ( West Kung ). Sai Kung is a place famous with its fishing village and also Pan Mui ( Philippinoes Maid ) Gathering on Sunday.
Well Sunday is a non working day for Philippines maid, they can go out to other places to meet their friends, there are even clubs and society for them to join. I got to walked near to these bunch of maid and they are practicing their Acapella, and they are so talented. There are bunch of them BBQing, speaking in cantonese, and so on.
Since Sai Kung is a famous fishing village, meaning you can see a lot of fishing boats around and some of the fisherman they sell their fish instantly after they caught.
Around 6pm, I suppose to meet up with one of my friends VIN because his parent (mother) said gona treat me for dinner and is his birthday. Well then I met him and we walk to the place called " Sai Kung Hoi Pong Square" ( mean Sai Kung seaside square.

Then we went to this restaurant Tong Kei and start order the seafood.
And we ordered Long Har (Lobster) Fried noodle. My god, this is the first time I taste lobster and I told my friends that and he laugh at me said Malaysia don't have lobster macam kampung. ishh ishh.
Then we have Lai Liu Ha ( Peeing Prawn, hockien called Heh Goh, sijie's favourite ) .
and Seng Ji ( Kings announcement paper - the roll one ), this is the seafood I tasted first time also. Wow this is gona be my first time experience having seafood on the seaside with all the new dishes I have ever taste.
After finish the seafood dinner, it is around HKD 1160 = RM500+ , damn expensive and lucky I am not the one who pay and THANK YOU AUNTIE, next time got chance sure I will SPEND YOU FOR DINNER IN MONG KOK.

After finish the seafood we walked around 10minutes to the famous Tong Sui ( no need explain much la ). We wait another 5 minutes for table and then I ordered a Hong Dau watever la something like ice kacang. hehe. The foods here are quite cheap with no rounding up to Malaysian ringgit coz everything will turn expensive. like RM10 for my tong sui which is HKD 22 still worth in HK.
The menu got lot more stuff.
In Malaysia you will see the sign of "HALAL" or "NON HALAL". in Hong Kong you will see the sign " DURIAN's AREA" or " NON DURIAN's AREA" with Chinese words if you can read....AUNTIE THANKS AGAIN FOR THE TONG SUI.

Hong Kong - The students' life

The students' life in Hong Kong is pretty much better than Malaysia, I can say. In the university most of the students are very active playing sports and joining activities and you can seldom see them sleeping in the room on Sunday.

I went to Hong Kong University Science and Technology, and I am going to stuck here for another 17days because I stay here. The university not bad looking and its look 1000 times better than University Malaya. Lets start explaining one by one in details.....
Canteen - the students canteens, they called them University Station or NewCan, they look more like a shopping mall food court and the price is quite cheap around Rm8-Rm10 you can get a proper meal. well, don't expect much because if you eat outside the university you gona spend like Rm20-40 per meal.
This is what I have the first day, Dim Sum (they called it YamCha, not like ours yamcha go mamak haha.... we yamcha include teh tarik, cola, watever with drink. They are with proper tea and dimsum).
The second day I had my Chasiu + Chicken rice. I can say the Chasiu in Hongkong is the best because they are juicier and colour looks good.
The dorm I stay is near the seaside meaning I can see the ship, yard, boat and so on.

In the university, they had Starbucks Coffee, Mc Donald, KFC, 7-11, and etc. The toilet here is as clean as you will rather stay in the toilet sometimes.

Transportation wise is very convenient because you can get Siu Bah ( small bus ) anywhere you wanted to go anytime
It is 24 hours service except the MTR ( Something like LRT ).
Most of them use Bat Tap Tong ( The octopus, hockien called Jiu Hu , Malaysian touch and go ) and it can use in many places like bus, train, food stall, drink machine, 7-11 and so on.
Students here do not sleep that early, the average time for them to go to bed is around 2-3am because they are busy with their studies + activities because everyone is active. Even 12am you can see bunch of ppl still walking in the street shopping and the shop wont close that early, you can find food 24 hours, I mean CHINESE food for 24 hours. Malaysia only mamak store, haha.

Hong Kong - The begining

I am taking 7am flight and expect it will be quite empty in the airport since it is weekdays, Friday and is morning. Once I reach the airport, I got a big shock because the airport is as crowded as sardine can.

There was a incident where the uncle try to bring something illegal to the flight and the security guard stopped him. What he tried to bring is DURIAN, the most delicious fruits in Malaysia. What the hell ? Are you trying to kill everyone in the flight ? KNN.

In the flight, I had my sandwich and a bottle of coke which cost me around RM11. Well as expected. But the 2 bugger Aunties who sit beside me having big meal. It makes me more hungry.

By the way, after 4 hours of flight with AirAsia, I reach Hong Kong International Airport, world best airport 2008 it says. Same thing the airport is as crowded as ever seen. It takes me 45 minutes to queue to cross the immigration. Gosh...

Then I was safe and the airport is huge. From one end to the another you gona take like 3 long escalators to reach the destination.
Well I am not the only lost Malaysian because I also saw a bunch of Graduation Trip students gone lost and the worse thing is I am following them. Should see the sign board clearly. Same thing, you need to take the train to another terminal...

For PehSiong, Sijie, Sidney, Loong, Fong, Desmond and so on. Don't come Hong Kong if you never learned chinese yet coz you gona get SOOOOO Lost.... HAHHAA

Penang - Coconut King

If you somewhere in Penang, then you don't want to miss this because this is one of the most cheapest place to get coconut drink around in Penang.

I guess if you want to buy a coconut in Kek Lok Si, it cost you Rm3, in Bukit Bendera cost you RM 5 and in Gurney they cost you RM 4.50. Well in this place the coconut only cost you RM1.20 because this is the Coconut Trading distributor.
You can see the satisfying face of most of the customers including me...

Cameron - Insects Farms

One of the most famous tourist destinations would be the Honey Bee farm, Butterfly Centres , cockroach farm ( I think no one want to go there ), and so on.As a matter of fact, bee farms in Cameron only contain bees and Butterfly Centres contain not only butterflies but also something else.

Well, the location of the bee farm I went is somewhere around Kea Farm and the entrance fees of bee farm is free. In the bee farm, you can experience the challenge of surrounding by bunch of bees and get rid of the fear or whatever we called phobia. You can see the containers which build around the farm to ensure their workers ( the bees ) are working with the honey producing.

Besides enjoy looking the bees, we also found something interesting there which is NON Earth Creatures......(I created that, cool huh)...Not far from the bee farm in Kea Farm ( walaueh !!! so many farms around...*confuse*), you can locate the butterfly farm just with 2 minutes with driving, i believe you don't want to walk, is climbing the hill instead of walking.

Well the butterfly farm is under the souvenir shop which the entrance fees will cost you around Rm4 per person.

Inside the farm, you not only can enjoy a bunch of butterfly hanging around the flower pot but also some other insects like DEAD lizards, DEAD scorpions, DEAD butterflies, DEAD cockroaches, DEAD road... Nah, not everything is dead, i mean with RM 4 you pay, you really got an eye opening on a lot of insects that you never even see before and they are alive. gosh.For example bunch of scorpion hanging around chit chat, how often you can see this? Tree insects, I bet most of the CITY boy they never see that even I am from Town also I never saw that before in my life.

Besides that, in the butterfly farm also you can experience how snakes eat. When we was there, the worker (real human worker), he threw a dead rat to the snake pool, but in the end the snake never eat it, may be is not cooked or the rat is dead too long time... no one knows...

Warning: Don't mess up with the bees in the bee farm because they will kill you by killing themselves. Once the bee stinked you, you have the probability of dying but for the bees, they sure die.....Don't plug the flowers or throw your rubbish around because loving our environment giving better future to our next generation....

Taiping - Lake Garden

Have you ever been to the Rain Town of Malaysia, Taiping? Well, this is my hometown where I lived since I born in year 1985. Many memories flowing around my mind every time I mentioned the name Taiping. This is the place where I know my friends, the place where I used to cycle to school, the place where I get so much nice food and the place where I learned how to be a greater person.

Well today I am going to story more or less about the Taiping's Lake Garden, one of the most famous place in Malaysia where most of people heard of it after the launching of Zoo Taiping, one of the Zoo's Night Safari in Malaysia...Taiping's Lake Garden formation aren't came from nature itself but it is created by 2 mens called Tai and Ping... Well I was joking, the truth is a bunch of people mining for gold ( Well they actually mine for Tin, Tin = money and money = gold ) same theory......

After the mining ends, eventually it will create a hole and the hole start filling with water and finally ..... taaa daaa .... it forms a LAKE.... wow power of god...Taiping's Lake Garden actually famous with its tourism spot such as the Looking Water Trees ( all the trees branches are facing the lake ), Zoo Taiping ( Where they kept animals inside, I mean what else...), Maxwell Hill ( the 100 years old hill, I am not sure why they write that but it should form like 10,000BC ), and the most famous must see place Kampung AQUA ( is not some fishing village but the transsexual kampung...well I promise you will get culture shock even you are Malaysian)....Well, if you have the free time welcome to Taiping because we got more than 30 of THE FIRST in MALAYSIA such as the first train station, first Museum, first hill, first aqua village (not sure), first zoo, first car, first men, first cyber cafe, first KFC ( nah I am joking )...
WELCOME anytime because the name means every thing TAI PING ( peaceful )...

Perhentian - The Begins of Perhentian Trip

Well, if you wonder where to get transport to go to the Perhentian Island from Kuala Lumpur, then you are going to read this because I am going to provide you some do"s" and don't"s" during your trip.

First you can get your bus ticket which will cost you around RM 30 in Hentian Putra which some where around Putra World Trade Center ( Make you you get your ticket to Kota Bahru for transfer ). If you those who like to sleep for the whole journey, you better get the night bus because it is colder than you can get in the afternoon. Bus condition not bad but don't expect too much from what you are paying.If your check-in time is in the morning then you better get a night bus because it is more convenient to you to get to the jetty just in time and night bus is more comfortable.

Be more caution in Hentian Putra because you might now know what will happened to you, all the passengers don't look friendly and most of them look like Series Murderer, I am sure you don't want to mess with them. Keep your belonging near with you and make sure they don't walked away like that, find any ways to keep the important things like put inside your underwear because no one care and no one ask.I am wearing like a Crocodile Hunter(lot of pockets on my shirt), "who near by me I'll kill who...."

If you get 10pm bus like I did, then you will be reach Kota Bahru around 6am in the morning. Make sure you pay 150% of attention on you, your belongings and friends because there are a lot of beggar, bugger and burger walking around following you even to the toilet, to the restaurant, to the mamak, not to the bus of course. Make sure you go wherever in a group. I have experienced where this weird guy, he follow us around and suddenly he sleep on the floor and start acting like the star movie actor holding a sniper and roll around in the main road. Gosh... Culture Shock Sial, I wish a car go over him seriously.

You will be able to get to the next bus SKMK637 to Kuala Besut ( The Jetty ), it will cost you around Rm4.60 and it takes 1 hour to reach the place.

Once you get into the place Kuala Besut Jetty, make sure you get a boat from one of the travel agent shop ( a lot of Travel Agents over there ) and ask them where you wanted to go in Perhentian. Well you can get the cheapest one....do Bargain!!!!

Note: Most of the Perhentian Resorts aren't for reservation, so you have to walk in register. Tell your boat where you wanted to go ( Pulau Besar, Pulau Kecil, Long beach, short beach, naked beach, nah I am joking ). After that the boat will bring you there fast and safe to the beach near the resort.
I will suggest you to arrive in Long Beach because the place is very very nice but up to you.
I was staying in MoonLight resort which is quite nice. We wait in Kuala Besut Jetty around 1 hour for the stupid boat to pick us up to the Island. How can they do thing so slow... but is ok, I am not going to scold them because I am in the Vacation mood.

Cameron - Friends gathering

It has been 2 years after the previous gangs trip to Bukit Larut ( Maxwell Hill ), Taiping. This year 2008 after the returns of few friends from other countries and also holidays, we managed to create another trip to Cameron.

Sincerely the trip won't complete without these 11 individuals from different places, with different personalities, different backgrounds and the most important we declared ourselves only with 2 words which are " Best Friends ". We are not only with 11 individuals but also we do missed out a few of the others which not manage to join us for that trip unfortunately.

Cameron - Tea Break

Well, if you are seeking of somewhere to get a mountain view high-tea or to get some rest after the speed of 30km/h of drive which stuck behind the stupid truck over 1 hour, then I will recommend you to stop by Cameron Tea Valley rest house.

It is around 5KM far from the Equatorial Hotel and 61KM from Simpang Pulai. Well if you drive then this is quite a good place for you to get a toilet after 1 hour of "no toilet provide" journey.

Back to the tea farm, there is a hill which planted with a lot of tea, I mean Duh!!! what else...On the bottom of the hill where you can park your cars, there is a restaurant selling tea and great brownies. You should try the brownies because my friend said so, I am not sure how good they are until I tried. It was great especially topping with the vanilla ice-cream and some chocolate source. They also serve tea in the tea farm (The sentence make me sound redundant but seriously they did sell tea).

While you are enjoying your brownies with ice-cream, you can even enjoy the nice view outside but they just look like tea and green...I mean what else you can aspect?

I ordered a Medium pot of Lemon Tea and a brownie but the lemon tea was pretty sour though. The strawberry tea was nice which ordered by one of my friend, Sidney. The price of 1 small pot of flavored tea (2 cups) cost you RM8, Medium (4 cups) RM14 and Large (6 cups) RM18. A brownie will charge you RM4.50.

They also serve cheese cake with different flavors. I planed to go to the place for the second time while I am going back but it disappoint me a lot because I realize the service sucks...

The second time I was ordering a pot of green tea, after finished the green tea I went for refill. Well, for your information, when you ordered a tea you expect them to refill with hot water but the waiter reject me. She said " GREEN TEA IS NONREFILLABLE " ...with her face look like she is going to kill me with the pot if I insist wanted to refill, may be the green tea will explode with second refill, I am not sure... AND THERE IS NO SIGN SAY "NO REFILL FOR GREEN TEA", else I won't act any stupid.
